East Asians is one of the more interesting group of races I have studied about. A lot of their cultures and traditions are a big part of their everyday life. Religion is also one of the biggest things they surround themselves. Religion is very important to the East Asians. I found this very interesting because being Filipino we share the same morals. Religion and the church is a big part of everyone's lives. Comparing it to where I grew up religion is not idealize as in the region of the East Asians. Where I live usually the only religious celebration people celebrate or practice is Easter, Christmas, and going to church from time to time.

The Japanese believe in an indigenous religion called Shintoism. Shintiosm is a belief that everyone was born good. Most Japanese immigrants that came to America also usually joined a Christian church or a buddhist temple. Also having an unbalanced lifestyle is believed that it cause illness. The Japanese believe that there has to be a balance in life.

Food that is common in Japan is fish. It is kind of a no brainer because Japan is a multi island nation surrounded by so much body of water that it would be dumb not to use that resource of so much fish around you. Japan is also known for having one of the richest fishing ground in the world. I was not shocked about Japan having a superb fishing ground because of how fish is a delicacy in some of their dishes. Sushi was also popularized in Japan and is also popular in America.

  1. I liked your images. Very clear. I liked what you wrote about Shintoism and that they believe that everyone is born good.

  2. Balance is probably one of the hardest things to achieve. I appreciate the Japanese culture for emphasizing it since the idea of balance forces a sort of "checkin" with one's self. Thanks for sharing!
