I find it very unique because there is nothing like it but has so many other cultures that influence it. Being Filipino I was born into a Catholic house. We go to church every weekend and went to prayer meetings with the church group. My family is very religious and believe that all the good you do in life will eventually come back to you. I also believe in this because what can happen if you do good in your life. There might be bad stuff going on but at least if you can help someone you get back in return or maybe not a material good but a spiritual relief that is subconscious. My family does not celebrate Christmas like my other friends do but they still get a tree and try and do what society does. Kind of fit into the new world they live in. In Philippines where they lived most of their life, bright lig

Learning about the South East Asians and Pacific Islanders was very interesting subject for me. Being born in Philippines it gave me a more knowledgeable advantage because I already knew a good part of the Filipinos food and culture. I was born in Manila which is the capital of the Philippines so I found it really interesting relearning about the Filipino culture because I have not been able to really learn anything new for years because I moved to California when I was really young. courtesy of https://filipinoscribbles.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/3eb2d-filipino2btorch.jpg One fact I already knew about the Filipino culture is that Filipino culture has a lot of Spanish influence from being colonized by Spain. Also having latino friends I found that we share the same types of foods like for Filipinos we have this dish called menudo just like the mexican dish but is it completely different. Also what was cool was how fish sauce was used alot in the South East Asian and Filipino d

A lot of their cultures and traditions are a big part of their everyday life. Religion is also one of the biggest things they surround themselves. Religion is very important to the East Asians. I found this very interesting because being Filipino we share the same morals. Religion and the church is a big part of everyone's lives. Comparing it to where I grew up religion is not idealize as in the region of the East Asians. Where I live usually the only religious celebration people celebrate or practice is Easter, Christmas, and going to church from time to time. courtesy of https://quatr.us/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/kamakurabuddha.jpg The Japanese believe in an indigenous religion called Shintoism. Caribbean Islands and South Americans coutesy of https://cdn-image.departures.com/sites/default/files/styles/responsive_900x600/public/1484328311/caribbean-islands_isla-holbox_2000x1333.jpg?itok=l6aVxOam The Caribbean Islands are always known as one of the most beautiful Destinations in the world. You always see islands like the bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, and Nassau of how out of the world they are. Learning about these Islands really made me want to be able to visit them when I am older. Seeing how many different cultures collide but also seem so alike really interested me when learning about the Islands. From history class back in highschool I know the Islands were colonized by many other countries but I did not know the Nether Lands conquered Parts of the islands before. Also I learned that the islands are very diverse just like here in California. I found that really interesting because even though the islands were so close to each other it was a really diverse community.
